MVR Cancer Center Inaguration in Mathrubhumi News Paper

MVR Cancer centre and research institute at Chooloor, Vellalasseri will be inaugurated by the honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan on 17th of January. Chairman C. N. Vijayakrishnan announced at the Press meet that this venture for the welfare of the people is built with 350 crores in 14 months.

In Kerala, it is the first time such a hospital with advanced and latest facilities has been built in the cooperative sector. From April 1st onwards the hospital will be functioning in a full fledged manner. This hospital built in an area of 6 lakh square feet has 300 beds, where the treatment will be free for the poor and under financial people.

This cancer centre will be functioning as a unit of the charity service ‘The Cancer And Allied Ailments Research (CARE) Foundation under the Calicut city service Co-operative Bank. MVR cancer center will be upgraded to the standard and levels of the Kennedy Cancer Centre in USA gradually.

Dr. Narayanan Kutti Varyar, the official of MVR Cancer centre quoted that 60,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year but unfortunately only one third of them are getting the proper treatment. Premier treatment will be given according to 30 sections. Facilities like digital mammography, for clear and crisp radiation linac, robotic surgery etc will be available here. Vice Chairman P.K. Mohammed Ajmal, G. K. Srinivasan, Secretary T.V. Velayudhan, P.S. Subil, T.M.Velayudhan, and director board members participated in the press meet.
